New York City Native. International Baller. Coach. Musician. Docu-Series Star.
Queens-Native Khalil McDonald of Viceland’s The Last Shot joined the Sports Blog New York Podcast to talk about his journey. From New York City across the World as an International Basketball Player; Khalil is a Man trying to make an impact on and off the court.
Khalil played high school ball at Campus Magnet in Queens and continued his education at Queens College. Khalil’s game and production improved each year at Queens College. He saw limited playing opportunities as a freshman but quickly earned respect from his coaches as they relied on him more and more each year. As a freshman he averaged just three points and three rebounds in 13 minutes. As a sophomore he improved to eight points and five rebounds in 20 minutes. In his upperclassmen years, Khalil became the focal point. He averaged 14 points and seven rebounds in 29 minutes and 18 points and eight rebounds in 34 minutes in his Junior and Senior years, respectively.
