NBA First Week Overreactions
Hosts Peter Kennedy, John-Lucas Duffy, Frank Villani, and Justin Babb bring up the best and worst of NBA First Week Overreactions. After our first week of games, regular fans and hot-take artists alike love to jump to conclusions about which teams are great, what teams stink, and who can’t play.
Now that every NBA team has played at least one game, what is the biggest overreaction you have heard?

For example, Lonzo Ball got abused by Patrick Beverely in his first career game. Headlines the next day proclaimed Lonzo a bust who couldn’t handle the physicality. Welp, he dropped 29 points 11 rebounds and 9 assists the next night. I think we have some time to figure this all out.
The Warriors are 1-2 and the Orlando Magic beat the Cleveland Cavaliers. Everything will straighten itself out overtime, but with so many faces in new places, there is plenty to talk about. How do the new look (new expectation) Timberwolves look? Will the Rockets and Chris Paul figure this our or do they not mesh? The Sixers are 0-3 but have played three tough teams, only place left to go is up, right?
Pete, Duff, Frank, and Babb are in-person for today’s episode to break down everything you need to know about the NBA first week. Also, we project forward on the most interesting teams and players. Knicks fans are frustrated with the lack of minutes going around for fan-favorite Willy Hernangomez. Also, Markelle Fultz’s jump shot is all typed of messed up. Lastly, the NBA Outsiders predict Matt Moore’s comeback (sorry we didn’t stay in our lane) and we ask, “What is Earl Watson doing in Phoenix” hours before he was fired.
