NFL Separation

It is safe to say the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Philadelphia Eagles have separated themselves from even the “good” teams in the league. The Patriots and Steelers are on a collision course to meet in the AFC Championship. The Eagles look as complete as any team in the NFC.

The second tier includes the Saints, Vikings, Jaguars, Falcons, Seahawks, Chiefs, and Titans. Also throw in the Panthers and Chargers. The point being, there is a “best of the best” but the rest gets very interesting. Among these second tier teams, we decipher which teams are threats and which are fake.

A lot of these thoughts fall onto the Quarterback. When it comes down to Drew Brees, Case Keenum, Russell Wilson, and Alex Smith; where does your trust lie? When it comes down to playoffs, what teams have a chance to win games, and who will be blown out.

Knicks Basketball

Anytime the Knicks can be up by 22 points in the 4th, and put in their backup-backups, its a good day. The Knicks have been very good at home and seem to feed of the crowd. Peter and Alec discuss the sustainability of the Knicks success. Kristaps Porzingis is looking to pass out of double teams more, and that is very good for not only personal, but team success.

A breakdown of the Knicks role players. Shout out to all the little guys who make the Knicks winning possible.

Jarrett Jack has been a steadying presence but how long can his lack of athleticism and scoring work in the NBA.

Have you reached the point you want Frank Ntilikina to start? Peter & Alec disagree.

Courtney Lee has become an aggressive scorer and a key part of their team D.

Kyle O’Quinn is arguably the best defender on the team, and loves to hype up the team.

Tread lightly on Enes Kanter, he has never been a good defender and this “average” defense he has been playing may be a mirage.

Doug McDermott, aka Doug McBuckets, aka Moug DcMuckets, has been knockdown and a surprising defensive player.

We even talked about Lance Thomas.

What is our confidence level on the Knicks on a nightly basis? Listen to find out.

Yankees Managerial Search & Shohei Otani

Who are the intriguing candidates to becomes the Yankees next manager? Alec breaks down if he thinks the Yankees go for a big name or a low-key guy to follow Cashman’s lead. He shouts out Hensley Meulens, the San Fran Giants Bench Coach who speaks 5 languages including Spanish (Sanchez etc.), Dutch (Didi), and Japanese (Tanaka & Otani?).

Shohei Otani is nicknamed “Japanese Babe Ruth” for his ability to both pitch and hit bombs. He has been a top player in Japan from both the mound and in the batter’s box. Here are his stats.

Seems like he and the Yankees are on a collision course. But, not without the help of Hedeki Matsui, who is rumored to be helping with recruitment and Tanaka.
